Brandon United Reserves are the reserve team for Brandon United of the Northern League. This is the reserves third season in the Durham Alliance and we will probably be fielding one of our youngest sides yet.. A large number of our first team players have left the club and this has provided the opportunity for several of last seasons reserve players to move up. The club has had a new influx of youngsters this season who, mixed with a few old heads, will form the nucleus of the team. The intention of Brandon Utd Reserves remains in that we try to create continuity of first team players by development from within the club. All the Brandon senior players train together and the first team and reserve team squads are selected simultaneously by the management and coaching staff prior to the weekend's games. This creates the opportunity for reserve team players to develop and be promoted to the first team squad and for first team players who have been out through injury, suspension or a drop in form to prove their level of performance before returning to the first team. The reserves play at Brandon United's Welfare Ground which is a fully floodlit facility enabling us to play mid week games as required. |
